Seas of Egypt
Mediterranean: The Mediterranean has a very weak tide (20–40 cm) except the Gulf of Gabès. Wind, pressure and sea state after storms (nawa) matter most for fishing.
Red Sea: The Red Sea has a very weak tide (20–50 cm), so wind, season and time of day matter more than the tide. Coral reefs sit close to shore.

Laws & safety
Fish Resources Development Authority; Border Guard permit for boats. Red Sea protectorates (Ras Mohammed, northern islands, Wadi El Gemal) have restrictions. In Alexandria watch the winter storm (nawa) calendar.
Wear a life jacket, tell someone where you are, and don't take a boat out if wind exceeds 28 km/h or waves exceed 1 m.
